Lyn Donald is a contemporary visual artist and art teacher on the Sunshine Coast. She is a professional award-winning artist and enthusiastic art educator with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. She has a Diploma of Fine Arts/Visual Arts and been teaching art is various forms for about 30 years and the current Complete Drawing and Painting Certificate Course for the past 10 years.
Through her art education programs, she has shared her knowledge and love of art to hundreds of people over the years. It gives her great pleasure to help others unlock their full potential and reap the rewards of happiness, self-awareness and self-fulfilment that come from creating original art.
Lyn’s art varies from bold, large, colourful florals in a detailed, contemporary realism style, to detailed tonally shaded graphite drawings, and coloured pencil artworks. In portraying these subjects from nature, Lyn celebrates the joy and beauty in life. She is driven by the challenge of capturing the essence and beauty of her subject before it fades or is lost forever, as the transitory nature of everything we love in life is only for a moment. Lyn has a Diploma of Fine Arts/Visual Arts and has exhibited widely in both group and solo exhibitions.
She feels strongly that creating art is her life purpose, her way of adding happiness to the world. This also includes helping others to release their own creativity so they too can enrich their lives producing good art. For this reason, she loves to teach drawing, painting and coloured pencil to children and adult age students in a live weekly classroom through her education programmes.
