Glenys Fentiman is a Mosaic Artist working mainly with Stained Glass. The texture and reflectivity of glass give life to each piece. Glenys creates two- and three – dimensional pieces, varying in size depending on the subject. Her original designs are abstracts, landscapes, and most recently her own style in portraiture. Some pieces, such as her Lazy Susan line, are functional as well as beautiful.
Glenys has said that glass is her passion. The colours and textures that are available in glass are endless. She love the way the light plays with glass but that also makes it very hard to photograph which can be frustrating.
Glenys started as a leadlighter many, many years ago but prefer the copper foil technique that she uses in her suncatchers. Mosaic was a natural progression with all the left over glass. Now, Glenys cuts up full sheets of glass just for her very popular mosaics.
Glenys spends a lot of time in her studio these days and her husband tells friends that he has to lure her out in the evening with a glass of wine.
